Key points to be noted before upgrading the CU2

• Confirm you have taken the full backup of your Active Directory.
• Confirm you have taken the full backup of your Exchange 2013 Servers.
• Mailbox Servers must be first upgraded before CAS
• First upgrade your Internet facing Site, before deploying to other sites.
• Mailbox Servers must be bought to Maintenance mode before updating the CU.

In this post we are going to see below mentioned topics for Lync 2013 High Availability and Disaster Recovery.

• Configuring Database Mirroring and Backup Pool Registrars 
• Experiencing SQL Server Failure or Outage 
• Experiencing a Pool Failure or Outage 
• Experiencing a Front End Server Failure 

Before initiating the steps we must consider few important key notes for performing Disaster Recovery.

•  To perform the Disaster Recovery or High Availability we must have minimum 3 SQL Servers with Enterprise Edition.
• Confirm all these SQL Servers have the same version.

In this Lab, I have configured SQL Mirroring (SQL03). This is an newly added feature for Lync 2013 for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
